Could I ask you for an advice especially about shading? How do you manage to achieve the super realistic effect? I'm starting to think whether it is from the paper or just my lack of knowledge and technique. Because I use 30x35 sketchbook for graphics and when it comes to skin shading I use fingers which does not make very natural look in the end.

hi,
for the shading I use a kneaded eraser and these --> englishfromfriends.com/blog/wp…
they're works so well !!!
the kind of paper for me it isn't very important; sketchbook is good.
for the precision of the work I suggest you to divide the reference image in many parts, this way --> www.francescomorante.it/images…
let me know if these advices will be useful !!

I think you didn't faithfully restitute her nose, chin and jaw. They are much bigger in reality than in your drawing. You are cheating here, but it's a nice artistic vision even if it doesn't stick to reality.
